Welcome to the Denver City High Class Of 1970 web site.  Our 40th Reunion was a huge success.  We had 28 classmates, 2 from the Class of 1969, and 2 former teachers that attended.  Please watch the Photo Gallery for Reunion pictures.  We express a great big thank you to all who helped this happen.

Daydreams

Written by:  Joe Harris

The summer heat is here but you know I don’t really mind. I love the sun; I just wish we were enjoying it on a beach somewhere in the Caribbean. That is a consistent daydream for me. I have a couple of photos of beaches that I clipped from a magazine tacked to the bulletin board above my desk. I often find myself day dreaming about being there.

That is a wonderful daydream, to live on a beach. That’s where you will find me. You can come to visit anytime you like. My hut is just above the high tide line; it’s the one in the grove of palm and mango trees. The trees are full of beautiful birds, parrots and cockatoos. We enjoy watching them and the monkeys too. The monkeys are often on the porch getting into mischief but we enjoy their company.

Life is easy. Whenever we are hungry, we stroll down the beach to the local tavern or to the fishing pier to get the catch of the day. Sometimes we cook; sometimes we just have fresh fruit and melon. The rising and the setting of the sun bracket our days. Each is a celebration of what is to come. In between, we drift between the sun and the shade, the water and the beach. Beachcombing is my favorite pastime. That is when I wonder from the house and visit with my neighbors. Evenings are filled with visits from friends, reading and writing and lots of music. Sometimes we go to the tavern and dance with the natives.

Daydreams are a wonderful thing. They are my release from the grind and routine of my life. I hope that you have wonderful daydreams, ones full of love and the passions of your life.
